The New abNormal

Just a brief and hopefully amusing observation:

CNN - as always - is on at work, and I sat and watched about 5 minutes of it before I realized that, in all the debates regarding Obama, Biden, McCain and Palin, we're really missing the true and deserving loser in this entire scenario.

The News Media.

I mean, here it is, not two days after the election, and... they've got NOTHING to talk about!

So far I've seen a story on how folic acid affects babies, T Boone Pickens' radical energy plan (there's a little bit of sarcasm hidden there. Can you find it?), Tropical Storm Paloma, and how women and men compare on levels of bacteria.

Good lord, people! Have we no amount of sympathy for these impoverished masses? If we don't act now, we can expect whole herds of media professionals to be arriving in the unemployment lines! Or setting up makeshift tent communities beneath freeway overpasses, pretending to interview one another for everything from "human interest" stories to white house press room photo ops.

Oh, the humanity!
