The New abNormal

Taking a few days off from work - - I've got another 15 days left to take off between now and the end of the year, finally got around to scheduling many of them.

I'm hoping to wrap my brain around some more writing in that time. I'll have more days off NEXT week, and then more on two separate weeks in November, and then some days off around Christmas, too.

I was even thinking about taking November 5th off, but that might be a bit much.

I've got only a few months left this year to push forward on my "preparatory goals" in advance of my plans for the coming year, and the first few months of 2009 are looking to be quite the busy ones, so I can't afford to leave myself any grace periods.

I've completed the draft of my current children's book, and now I can focus on going over designs with my wonderful artist friend who's expressed interest (I'll let her remain anonymous in case she's having second thoughts).

I'm also thinking about uploading my Blog Chronicles (tentatively titled Anachronicles) to my cafepress account and priting out a copy or two to use as publisher submissions - - or to just have in my bookshelf. I'm thinking it's long past time to do the same with some of my poetry/lyrics, as well. Hard to get past the "gosh, but what if it's not good enough?" stage. But hey, if I'm arrogant enough to publish my own CD, then why not?

I may need to actually shop around for a literary agent. At least talk to some and get an idea of exactly where I'm going from here. I can't just keep wanking about with ideas and goals - I'm going to need to actually ante up and... I dunno, I suppose I could just slap down another three pounds of cliches here, but I think you know what I'm getting at.
