Heh, f-c got a postcrossing postcard from Finland that referred to well-known Bill Murray movie Marmot's Day.

There are a lot of places that the translation issue could have arisen. Thanks to the Internet, we can shed some light. Turns out "Marmot's Day" is a direct translation of "Päiväni Murmelina," which is how the movie was titled for release in Finland. Evidently in Europe it was always called Marmot's Day.

I wonder how that goes over? Is there an opening crawl to explain Marmot Day? "Americans believe that the marmot Punxsutawney Phil controls the weather..." How do they understand this?

So I found some nice tan slip-on dance shoes with a built-in high arch (Dance Now split-sole jazz bootie). I'm a little annoyed at not being able to dance barefoot, but if it helps me be able to stay in releve for Arabic, it's worth it.

I also unearthed my TheraBand and my little foot rollerball so I can exercise the foot/hamstrings while I watch TV in the evenings.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for help putting together a steampunk outfit for a Halloween costume. I didn't have much time/money to do too many additions, but I think it turned out okay anyway. Today, some friends of mine and myself got together for a photo shoot at a local college campus. I thought you might be interested in seeing the finished product, though I do apologize that I'm not necessarily the best model.

I wrote this post a while back, so I'm linking to it.

ljsecret will be taking a week long hiatus from posting imaged based secret posts. On Monday (November 16th) a text only submission post will be opened and left open all week.
